The Świętokrzyskie Mountains
Their
name is connected with the monastery located
in the second highest peak in the
Świętokrzyskie Mountains called Łysa Góra or
Łysiec. The real treasure – the relic of the
Saint Cross is kept there, contributed to
giving the name of the Saint Cross to the
monastery as well as the nearby region.
Łysa Góra (Łysiec, as
people used to call it) still remainds to
carry the unknown meanig and holds some
mystical secrets.
According to Jan
Długosz, in pagon times the peak was proud
of its temple dedicated to three gods: Łada,
Bod and Lel also names as Świst, Poświst and
Pogoda. |
