Saint Cross
It
represents the whole Świętokrzyskie
Mountains, it is situated in its heart, in
Łysa Góra (Bald Mountain): the monastery
which was first mentioned in the polish
history in the 17th century.
Undoubtedly it is the main reason for a
number of pilgrimages both from Poland and
abroad.
The name of the monastery
derives from the fact of keeping there the
relic of the Saint Cross.
Nowadays, within
the monastery walls there are: the Misionary
Museum and the Museum of The Świętokrzyski
National Park presenting its flora and fauna
abundance.
2006 is the millenium
year – it commemorates the first settlement
of the monks in Saint Cross.
